  4. Our instructor accompanies you to the DMV - if a family member or friend is busy, you are still able to take your exam!
  5. You have the car for two hours; for the first hour, an instructor will review your driving skills and go over what the DMV will ask you during your exam. After this short lesson, you can use the car for your test. Of course, due to DMV delays, the process could take more than two hours, but we will do our best to ensure your experience runs smoothly.

Cancellation Policy

Out of respect for our instructors, we urge you to notify us immediately if you would like to reschedule your appointment for any reason (including illness, other time commitments, etc.). If you do not cancel an appointment without providing our staff with sufficient notice at least 24 hours beforehand, you will be charged a no-show fee of $45 in accordance with our attendance policy. Please be sure to communicate with us as soon as you are able to about any conflicts - we are always more than happy to accommodate our customers.

Car Rental for Behind-the-Wheel Driving Test in Sacramento

Are you about to take your behind-the-wheel driving test in Sacramento, but don’t have a car to take your test in?

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) does not provide a vehicle for people who would like to take their behind-the-wheel exams - you are instead required to bring your own car for the driving test. 

The car should be in good mechanical condition. The DMV will check the car, the brake lights, the signal indicators, and the horn. All should be working, and your tires should also be in good condition. 

Many people are not able to bring their own vehicles to the test because of mechanical issues (e.g. a cracked windshield, out-of-date brakes, non-functional signal lights, unsafe tires) or simply because they do not own a car.

When you rent one of our vehicles to use, you rent the car for two hours - although, with wait times and logistical issues, the process sometimes takes more than two hours. 

First, our DMV-certified instructors will give you a brief review lesson that covers what you will need to know to pass your driving test. Then, our instructor will accompany you as your companion driver, which is a requirement for the test - you will not need to bring a family member or friend with you! We will present our vehicle registration and insurance (another requirement for the test). After you finish (and pass!) your test, the instructor will drive you home safely.
