Who should take your online driver's education course?
By law, teenagers (under 18 years of age) are required to take a 30-hour long driver’s education course and obtain a Certificate of Completion from a licensed driving school in order to take their written DMV test and obtain a learner’s permit. What happens when I finish my online driver's ed course?
When you finish taking the course and pass the final quiz, we will send you a Certificate of Completion by mail, which you must present with other documentation to be able to test for your permit. Please use your legal name exactly as it appears in your birth certificate or legal documents; additionally, be sure to use your current mailing address to make sure you get your certificate on time.
What will cause the issuing of my Certificate of Completion to be delayed?
Some students use nicknames, or addresses that are different from their real address. If you use a name other than your legal name, the certificate will be issued to that name - you cannot use it to take your written test. Additionally, if you give us the wrong address, the certificate will be sent to that address and you will not get it in a reasonable amount of time - we would have to issue a new one and this may cause delays. Please make sure to provide us with accurate information.
